8. Install the engine drain plug
and tighten it securely. Pour the re-
commended oil into the filter hole.
Install filter plug.
9. Start the engine and allow it to
idle for a few minutes.
10. Turn the engine off and wait
approximately one minute. Re-
check the oil level.
11. Inspect the area around the
drain plug and oil filter for leaks.
Front Differential and Rear Drive
Lubricant
Inspect and change the gear lub-
ricant at the scheduled intervals.
When changing the lubricant, use
approved SAE 80W-90 hypoid oil
and use the following procedure:
1. Place the ATV on level ground.
2. Remove the oil filler plug.
3. Drain the oil into a drain pan af-
ter having removed the drain plug.
4. After all the oil has been drai-
ned, install the drain plug and tigh-
ten securely.
!! CAUTION !!
Inspect the oil for any signs of me-
tal filings or water. If found, take
the ATV to an authorized Arctic Cat
ATV dealer for servicing.
1. Pour recommended oil into the
filler hole .
q NOTE
If the gear case has a level plug,
fill to the threads of the level plug.
If the gear case has only a fill plug,
fill to within 2.5 cm (1 in.) of the
threads of the fill plug
2. Install the filler plug.
