3. Install a spacer and square key on the balancer

shaft; then align the timing mark on the balancer

driven gear to the timing mark on the drive gear

and slide the driven gear into place.

4. Install the oil pump drive gear, chain, and driven

gear as an assembly; then apply red Loctite #271

to the oil pump shaft and secure with oil pump

driven gear nut. Tighten to 7 ft-lb.

the gear; then apply red Loctite #271 to the threads

and install the balancer nut (left-hand thread).
