Updating The Firmware
The RC210 was designed with ease of firmware upgrades in mind. This allows it to be easily upgraded in the field as new firmware
versions are released.
All that is needed to upload updates to the RC210 is a computer running Windows© Win98/NT/XP/2000/Win 7/Win 8 and a serial cable
(and adapter).
Downloading And Installing The Required Software On Your Computer
The programming software may be downloaded at our web site:
http://www.arcomcontrollers.com/index.php/firmware-downloads/updater
Once downloaded, simply run the setup program to install the Arcom Updater program on your computer.
Programming Cable
In addition to the software and a standard serial cable, you will also need an adapter that allows connection to the RC210 (note that
these connections are not "standard", in that Rxd and Txd are reversed. This is by design and allows you to use a straight through
serial cable between your computer and the RC210 without the need for a null modem adapter)

Note: If you purchased the RC210R Rack Mount Enclosure, you already have a DB25 Programming Connector installed and you may
disregard the above
Downloading Firmware Updates
Once you've installed the program on your computer and have the programming cable, you'll need to download the firmware update
from our website:
http://www.arcomcontrollers.com/index.php/firmware-downloads/rc210
We recommend that you create a directory dedicated to firmware updates. As an example, you could name it "updates", but you may
call it anything you like. Once downloaded, unzip the update into this directory. Remember the location of this directory as you'll need it
later. All updates contain 2 files
– a readme.txt and one with a .hex extension. The only one you need be concerned with is the one with
the .hex extension.
