3.3 POWER SUPPLIES (PS1 THROUGH PS6)
PS1 is a multiple output supply. +5V and -15V is fed to the A44 and A45 Regulator Assemblies. The Regulator
Assemblies supplies -5V, -12V and +15V to the A1 Preamplifier. The Regulator assemblies also supply -8V to
(Terminal Blocks) TB1, TB3, TB4 and TB6 . -5V is also supplied to the A2 Quad Amplifier.
PS2 is a single output supply that supplies -15V to the A45 Regulator Board.
PS3 is a single output supply. The main +24.0 volts DC supplies voltage to the Terminal Blocks to power Fan
assemblies B1 through B36.
PS4 is a single output supply. The main +24.0 volts DC supplies voltage to the Drain FETs in the A2, A3, A5,
A6, A7 and A8 Quad amplifiers.
PS5 is a single output supply. The main +24 volts DC supplies voltage to the Drain FETs in Quad modules
A21-28.
PS6 is a single output supply. The main +24 volts DC supplies voltage to the Drain FETs in Quad modules
A13-20.
3.4 CONTROL SYSTEM
3.4.1 A36 ALC Board (Schematic 10023927)
This section describes the operation of the level control board. The level control board performs the following
functions:
•
Provides automatic level control of the amplifier’s output when the amplifier is placed in the ALC mode.
•
Limits RF input level to the amplifier and turns on the audio alarm when forward or reflected power levels
exceed specified levels.
•
Drives forward and reflected indicators on the front panel display.
3.4.2 A34 Display Assembly, 4.3”, LCD (Schematics 10029679,
10030013)
The A12 Display Assembly board consists of two 16-bit microcontrollers and about nine other ICs that monitor
and indicate the status of the amplifier. Power is supplied using only a single 5-volt power supply. The board
offers the following:
