Maintenance & Disassembly (Illustration 3)
The device requires general maintenance at least once a month. The power supply should
always be disconnected during maintenance. The drum filter mesh requires frequent cleaning
and checking that there are no tears or wearing on the mesh. The quarts glass (I) must be
cleaned and all calcium build-up, grime and algae removed. The UV-C lamp (F) will require
replacement after 12000 hours usage. The lifespan is influenced by the amount of ‘start/stop’
moments that the UV-C unit undergoes. The intelligent electronics built-in to the UV-C unit (E)
indicates (X) when the lamp will need replacement.
1) Disconnect the power supply and ensure that the pipe work is closed off.
2) Ensure water can drain from the unit’s housing.
3) Rotate the drum by hand, checking for wear and tear on the drum mesh.
4) Loosen the lock-nut adaptor and disconnect the UV-C lamp (F) from the unit housing (J).
5) Carefully remove the quarts glass.
6) The quarts glass (I) can be cleaned with a suitable cleaning agent. Rinse the quarts glass
(I) thoroughly after cleaning (avoid scratching the glass by using a soft cloth).
7) Once the quarts glass has been cleaned and dried (I), carefully place the glass back into its
housing unit (H). Make sure the O-rings (K1 & K2) are properly secured.
8) Insert the UV-C lamp into the lamp holder (J) and slide it all the way into the quarts glass (I).
9) Tighten the lock-nut (G) onto the adaptor (H) by hand.
10) Place the cover back on the housing unit (M) and insert the plug (O) in the power supply.
11) After replacing the UV-C lamp (F) the filter must be reset. To do this the button (T) on the
electronic ballast (E) must be held in for 5 seconds. A green light will burn when this has been
completed.
