Introduction:
Protein skimmers play an important role when maintaining a healthy saltwater aquarium. It has two main functions one to get rid of uneaten
fish food, excrement and toxic substances that might harm the sensitive ecosystem of a saltwater aquarium, and the other to add oxygen to
the tank. Aquaforest recommends to use the Probiotic Aquaforest method with the protein skimmer to create your dream reef. The AF200+

Installation:
1. Carefully remove all the packaging and unwrap the individual
elements.
2. Place the AF200+ Skimmer in a stable position in the water. To work
correctly the device needs to be immersed in 18-25 cm of water.
3. Place the cup inside and gently twist it until it locks.
4. Place the lid on the cup.
5. The AquaBee AC UP 5000 v24 (0-30 W). pump fits to the silicon
connection in the canister.
6. Connect the AquaBee AC UP 5000 v24 (0-30 W) pump to the silicon
hose to the canister.
7. Once the skimmer is plugged into the electricity it is ready to use.
8. Regulating the pipe depends on the level of water. It is recommended
that there is a 2-3cm gap at the bottom of the cup.

Safety rules for the

Skimmer:

The canister works in the water. The device needs to be
immersed in 18-25 cm of water

The canister needs to be checked and cleaned regularly.

To clean use a soft cloth and warm water only.
•
Make sure the electric elements are always dry and used
in the correct manner.

Make sure the straining cup is emptied regularly. Try not
to spill or let the skimmate to be spilt into the main tank.
DO NOT:

Use the skimmer outside the water.
•
Wash in hot water.
•
Clean or disinfect the device in acetone or use any acidic
products that are not to be used on delicate products.
•
Let the plug get wet.
Possible problems and solutions:
Attention
: A new skimmer needs a couple of days to reach its optimum.
It is possible that during these days the canister may not work well,
works too hard or bubbles may appear in the water. These are normal
reactions and does not mean that the device is broken. Let the device
work as it is for a few of days to check that it is working well.
Attention:
At the beginning the pump can be quite loud. This can also
be connected to the pump getting used to its surroundings and should
quieten down after a few days. If the pump is working normally but
suddenly starts to work loudly, disconnect the skimmer, take it apart and
clean it well. If cleaning doesn’t solve the problem, send the pump to the
seller to be repaired or exchanged for a new one.
