NOTE: If the wiper is used regularly, your quartz sleeve will need little or no extra cleaning. However certain
metals may adhere to the quartz sleeve. These metals can not be removed by the wiper.
If Your Quartz Sleeve Needs Cleaning:
1.
Unplug the unit, turn the pump off.
2.
Twist the transformer cap off. Loosen the Davis connector first. For more details,
SEE INSTRUCTION #4 on page
14.

Slide lamp out while still connected to the transformer be careful not to slide the lamp out at an angle (even a slight
angle) this may cause a “U” shaped crack at the end of the quartz sleeve, or possible breakage of the lamp.
Do not force the lamp out of the quartz sleeve. Any force would be an indication of an improper
removal of the lamp.

Drain the housing.
5.
Pull the wiper rod completely out (fully extended).

10. RELEASE BLADES:
Remove and replace wiper blade(s).
11. REPLACE C-CLIP:
Using needle nose pliers replace the top c-clip into the top notch on the rod. Make sure the
blade is secure.
Do not use the same c-clip or it will fall off.
12. REINSTALL ROD ASSEMBLY:
Insert rod assembly back in through the large open end of the unit (from which it
was removed) and guide rod out through hole at the base of the unit.
14. CONNECT ROD:
Using a 1⁄2” wrench screw the nut into the base of the unit. Be careful not to cross thread.
15. REINSTALL PARTS:
Re-install hex nut and wiper ball on the end of the rod.
16. MOISTEN ELEMENTS:
Wet wiper blade and Quartz Sleeve.
17. COMPRESS ROD:
Push rod completely into the unit and insert Quartz Sleeve assembly through the blade.
PLEASE NOTE:
Units have 2 wiper blades, be sure to insert in both blades. Make sure Quartz Sleeve is inserted in the
seat at the bottom of the unit. Tighten EZ twist cap.

CLEANING THE QUARTZ SLEEVE
13. INSTALL WIPER NUT:
Screw new wiper nut in over the threads at
the end of the rod and slide it the rest of the way down, until the nut is rest-
ing on the base of the unit.
NOTE:
Make sure to
SCREW
the nut over the
threads on the rod or the seal inside of the wiper nut can be compromised
causing the unit to leak.
