IN-LINE CHLORINATORS

• 

In-line chlorinators must be placed downstream of the 

heat pump pool heater as low to the ground as possible.

• 

The plumbing placed between the chlorinator and heat pump must be done in a way 

to isolate chemical concentrations from entering the heat pump when the pool’s filter 

pump is off. The isolation loop method shown in Figure 6 is one method to achieve this.

• 

Failure to isolate high concentrations of chemicals in the water from 

entering the heat pump pool heater will damage the heat exchanger.
