Checking play (04_49)
To check the clearance:
•
Stop the engine.
•
Rest the vehicle on its stand.
•
Check that the vertical oscilla-
tion at a point between the pin-
ion and the crown on the lower
branch of the chain is approx.
28
- 30 mm (1.10 - 1.18 in).
•
Move the vehicle forward so as
to check the chain vertical oscil-
lation in other positions too.
backlash should remain con-
stant during all wheel rotation
phases.
Adjust backlash if it is uniform but higher
or lower than
28 - 30 mm (1.10 - 1.18
in) .
CAUTION
IF THERE IS MORE CLEARANCE AT
SOME POSITIONS, THIS MEANS
THAT SOME CHAIN LINKS ARE FLAT-
TENED OR JAMMED. IN THIS EVENT,
CONSULT AN Official aprilia Dealer.
TO AVOID THE RISK OF SEIZURE, LU-
BRICATE THE CHAIN ON A REGULAR
BASIS.
Controle van de speling

Voor de controle van de speling:
•
Leg de motor stil.
•
Plaats het voertuig op de stan-
daard.
•
Controleer of de verticale
schommeling, in een punt tus-
sen het rondsel en de kroon in
de onderste vertakking van de
ketting, minstens
28 - 30 mm
(1.18 - 1.10 in) bedraagt.
•
Verplaats het voertuig vooruit,
zodat de verticale schommeling
van de ketting ook in andere po-
sities kan gecontroleerd wor-
den; de speling moet in alle
fasen van de rotatie van het wiel
constant blijven.
Wanneer de speling uniform is, maar
meer of minder dan
28 - 30 mm (1.18 -
1.10 in) bedraagt, voert men de regeling
uit.
