2. Close the position by pushing the quick release skewer back towards the bike frame.

3. Unscrew the front wheel axle by turning 

 

the handle of the quick release skewer  

counterclockwise.

Step 3: Remove the wheel axle

Remove the front wheel axle, taking care not to lose the nut on the opposite side of the quick release skewer.
