5.5.2 - Checking the hydraulic brake system
Your Angell bike is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes.
In accordance with current regulations, the left handle (
R
) actuates the front wheel brake and the right handle (
S
) actuates
the rear wheel brake.
Before you hit the road:
1. Check the wear of the pads.
2. Check the wear of the discs.
3. Check the hoses for wear.
4. Check that the brakes are working properly.
After you have been on the road:
1. Remove mud and other dirt from the disc and/or caliper.
2. Clean the caliper with a dry cloth.
Every month:
1. Check the oil level in the oil tank.
2. Check that the nuts are properly tightened.
Brake pads must be replaced
If they are damaged or if their width is below 2.5 mm.
A wear indicator on the brake pads will indicate its state (grey
dot on the scheme below).
Take care not to touch the brake discs, calipers and gears after intensive use, they can be very hot.
