6.0 MAINTENANCE

In all cases, before work commences turn off the Mains Electricity and Gas Supply to the heater
6.1 ROuTINE INSPECTION INTERVALS AND REQuIREMENTS
To ensure continued efficient operation of the heater it is recommended that it is checked and serv-
iced at regular intervals. The frequency of servicing will depend upon the particular installation and
usage but in every case a maximum of twelve months should be allowed between service inspec-
tions.
DANGER
It is a legal requirement that any service work should be carried out by a suitably qualified and Gas
Safe registered personnel.
6.1.1 RECOMMENDED MINIMuM SERVICING REQuIREMENTS (ANNuALLy OR
EVERy 4,000 HOuRS)
Does not exclude annual gas safety checks required under Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.
1.
Inspect and clean the following, by removing the burner:
• Burner tube
• Vapour seal
• Rope Gasket
• Combustion chamber
• Spark electrode
• Ionisation electrode
2.
Check condition of condensate pipework and empty and clean condensate trap
3.
Check ignition performance
4.
Inspect internal air and flue system
5.
Inspect cover seal for damage or leakage
6.
Perform flue gas analysis and set CO
2
if necessary
7.
Inspect and flush DHW storage tank (especially in hard water areas)
Replace any worn or defective components as necessary
Follow the procedures given in section 6.2 for parts removal in addition to notes on the following
pages:
