MX Series Relay Receiver Systems

Product Information

The MX8 and MX16 Relay Receivers (FIG. 1) are radio frequency (RF) or infrared (IR) controlled

relay systems. Receivers for the systems include 8 (MX8) or 16 (MX16) momentary closure relays.

Models with an IRX suffix (MX8-IRX or MX16-IRX) are IR controlled and support up to 4

IRX-UM+ external IR sensors.

Specifications

MX8 (IRX) and MX16 (IRX) Specifications

Power input

• 12 to 18 VDC 100 mA minimum (PS2.8 power supply adapter supplied with each

MX8 and MX16 system)

• IRX-UM(+) or IRX-SM(+) external IR receivers require an additional 25 mA each.

IR sensor

IRX-DM+ (one included with MX8-IRX or MX16-IRX units)

Receiver

• RF: 418 MHz

• IR (with external IR sensor): 418 MHz

Relays

• MX8 (IRX): 8 momentary contacts UL rated at: 1A @ 30 VDC / 0.5 A @ 120 VAC

• MX16 (IRX): 8 momentary contacts UL rated at: 1A @ 30 VDC / 0.5 A @ 120 VAC

Front panel components:

MX8 (IRX)

No front panel components.

MX16 (IRX)

Connectors for 8 relay output connections (in addition to the 8 on the rear panel).

Rear Panel Components (MX8 and MX16):

RF Receiving antenna: Extends from the rear panel (on RF models only). Extend the antenna vertically

during use.

PWR connector:

2-pin captive-wire connector receives power from the included 12 VDC AC to DC
power module or from a 12 V to 18 V DC, 100 mA min. power source.

IR INPUT connector:

4-pin captive-wire connector for data input from and power output to an IRX-UM+
sensor (for use with IR systems only). Up to four sensors can be connected to this
input.

OUTPUT connectors:

2-pin captive-wire momentary contact relay outputs (eight on the MX8 (IRX) and 16
on the MX16 (IRX)). The MX16 (IRX) has eight outputs on the front panel, in addi-
tion to the eight on the rear panel.

Dimensions (HWD)

1.65" x 5.08" x 5.07" (4.191 cm x 12.903 cm x 12.878 cm)
