Introduction

Landmark Cinema Quick Setup Guide

Making the Cables

Use Category 5 (CAT-5) wire for all PhastLink connections. CAT-5 wire consists of
4 twisted pairs of wires. An RJ-45 connector is used at each end.

T568A Wiring Standard (PhastLink Cables)

The cables between the PMB-RF, PMB-TCC, and PMB-CF2 are CAT-5 PhastLink
cables. These cables use the T568A wiring standard for the RJ-45 pin connections at
BOTH ends of each cable. These connections are shown in Figure 8:

T568A-to-T568B Wiring Standard (NULL 10-BaseT Ethernet Cable)

The cable between a computer's Ethernet card and the PLC-MCU card (in the PMB-
CF2) is a CAT-5 10-BaseT Ethernet cable that uses the T568A standard at one end of
the cable and the T568B wiring standard at the other end of the cable. It does not
matter which end is plugged into which device, as long as one end is wired one
way and the other end is wired the other way.

Important!

There are TWO different

wiring standards used in a

Landmark Cinema system.

Depending on what devices

are being connected, you

must select the proper

standard, as explained below.

(T568A wiring standards)

Note

If you are connecting the

PLC-MCU card to an Ethernet

hub instead of to an Ethernet

card in a PC, use a straight-

through, pin-to-pin cable.
