Upgrading or Downgrading the Firmware
The Firmware on the IP Encoder can be upgraded or downgraded as required using a compatible
Firmware Update Package (FUP) provided by American Dynamics.
In order to achieve optimal system performance it is highly recommended that your Intellex IP is
running the most recent version of software available on the American Dynamics product website.
Procedure 3-23 details the steps required to change the firmware of the IP Encoder.
Procedure 3-23 Updating / Downgrading the Firmware
Caution
Loss of communication to the IP Encoder
If the IP Encoder subnet has been changed from the default settings then the upgrade procedure
should be completed using a laptop or PC directly connected to the IP Encoder.
Once the factory default settings are restored on the IP Encoder the IP address will be reset to
192.168.1.80. The laptop or PC connected to the IP Encoder must be reconfigured to the same
subnet in order to restore the saved configuration settings.
Caution
Loss of configuration
Upgrading the firmware will result in all saved configuration settings being removed and the IP
Encoder will be restored with the factory settings.
1
Complete Procedure 3-21 to backup the current configuration settings.
2
Ensure that the browser is displaying the Main Configuration page (if not refer to Procedure 3-
11).
