Deleting a Zone
Upon deleting a zone, all the instruments assigned to that zone are returned to the unassigned instrument
zone. They can be reassigned to a different zone at any time. No instruments are deleted with the exception
of the zones default instrument, which is no longer needed.
1 In the administration client, navigate to the security zone you want to delete in the left-hand
pane, right-click, and click Delete.
If the zone contains instruments, the program asks if you want to apply the security settings for
the site default instrument to each instrument as it is moved to the Unassigned Instruments
zone.
2 Click Yes to inherit the settings, or No to maintain the settings. This completes the process.
Click Cancel if you want to override the deletion.
The Single Zone View
The single zone view shows the instruments that are members of that zone. Each zone also
contains a default instrument as mentioned above. You can propagate the security settings for the
default instrument to any or all instruments in the zone.
The view for a zone is similar to the view for the All Secured Instruments node. A right-hand pane
displays one of several views depending on the MMC view mode. Large Icons, Small Icons, List or
Details views are available. The Details view shows the instrument name, a description, and the
software version of the instrument.
Action Description
Select the + / - icon in tree. Expands / Collapses the tree view.
Double-click on a zone icon in the
right-hand view pane. The right-hand pane displays the instruments assigned to that
zone.
Select an instrument within that
zone. The right-hand pane displays the security settings for that
instrument.
