Safety and Protective Equipment
Polarized Plug
The 3 Cup Food Processor has a polarized plug (as shown in
Figure B, with one blade wider than the other). To reduce
the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit into
the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician.
DO NOT
attempt to modify the plug in
any way. Additionally, if the polarized plug fits loosely into
the electrical outlet or if the electrical outlet feels warm, DO
NOT use the outlet.
Danger of personal injury or damage to food processor due to improper use .
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord is not recommended for use with this
product, but if necessary, the marked electrical rating must be at least as great as that
of the product. Arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop
or tabletop where it can be tripped over or pulled.
Safety Interlock Mechanism
For your safety, the 3 Cup Food Processor has an interlock mechanism that prevents it
from
being turned on if the base, bowl, and lid are not are not properly assembled and locked
together. DO NOT
attempt to defeat the safety interlock mechanism used by the
food
processor lid and bowl; doing so may result in personal injury. Attempting to defeat the
interlock mechanism will damage the food processor if it is subjected to excessive force.
To prevent damage to the safety interlock mechanism:
•
ALWAYS
lock the bowl to the power base before attempting to fit the lid.
•
ALWAYS fit the lid onto the bowl by aligning the respective grooves of the interlock
mechanism in order to lock the lid to the bowl.
•
ALWAYS
turn the lid counterclockwise (i.e., left) , as shown in Figure C, when locking
the lid to the bowl.
