wheels
Check the running gear tires regularly for damage and firm fitting
on the wheel rim.
Ensure a minimum distance of 1 inch [25 mm] from the scraper
to the running gear tires!
Required
tire
pressure.
Running gear tire / Roller tire:
62 psi
[4.3 bar]
Roller feelers:
26 psi
[1.8 bar]
Required tightening torque for lug nuts or bolts:
258.15 ft lb [350 Nm]
Required axle bolt tightening torque:
332 ft lb [450 Nm]
Regularly
check:
lug nuts for tightness
tire
pressures
Only use approved tires.
Repair work on tires may only be carried out by specialists using
suitable assembly tools.
Tire fitting requires sufficient skills and proper assembly tools.
Use the jack only at the jacking points indicated.
12.6.1
Tire air pressure
The required tire air pressure is dependent on:
tire
size
tire
carrying
capacity
forward
speed
The operational performance of the tires is reduced:
by
overloading.
if tire air pressure is too low.
if tire air pressure is too high.
Check tire air pressure regularly when the tires are cold, i.e.
before begining a run.
The difference in pressure between the tires on one axle must
be no greater than 1.45 psi [0.1 bar].
Tire air pressure can be raised by up to 14.5 psi [1 bar] after a
fast run or in warm weather. Tire air pressure should on no ac-
count be reduced as it is then too low when the tires cool.
