If wiring RS232 to a 9 or 25 pin D type connector the standard connections are as follows:
9 pin: Tx pin 3, Rx pin 2, GND pin 5
25 pin: Tx pin 2, Rx pin 3, GND pin 7
See note below regarding Tx and Rx crossing when wiring RS232
