Installation
2-5
To install the antenna on the roof or body of a car when
access to bottom side of mounting plate is available:
1.
Position the antenna as far from the emergency lights as possible while
still on a relatively flat surface. The maximum plate thickness in the
chosen location should not exceed 0.062”. Connect the cable (SMA
jack) to SMA plug on antenna mount. Tighten securely.
2.
Punch/drill a 0.81” (20.575 mm) hole in the selected area. Clear all
paint, dirt and oil away from the immediate area around the hole. It is
important that there be a clean metal-to-metal contact point between
the antenna mount and the car.
3.
Assemble mount through hole from underside.
4.
Assemble the O-ring into groove on brass nut (1 1/8 – 18 M-mount
interface nut).
5.
Assemble brass nut onto mount body. Tighten brass nut until O-ring is
compressed and brass nut is in contact with mounting plate. Hold
mount body from spinning using spanner wrench applied to two holes
on top of mount body or with an open end wrench applied to flats of
mount body underside flange.
WARNING:
DO NOT hold SMA connector body to prevent mount from turning while tightening
brass nut.
6.
Route cable to desired location.
7.
Assemble antenna gasket over brass nut of mount.
8.
Assemble antenna to mount tightening by hand until snug and gasket
is slightly compressed.
