IMPORTANT
OPERATING PROCEDURES
The Solar Box shall only be switched on once
the hot water cylinder is fully filled with water.
The Solar Box can only function after the
refrigerant supply has been connected.
The electrical input is: 230 V~/ 50 Hz.
The electrical installation of the equipment
should comply with the current national
electrical regulations.
If the power cable is damaged it should be
replaced by the supplier, installer or qualified
personnel in order to avoid hazardous
situations.
The minimum permitted water pressure for
use in the circuit is 100 kPa.
The maximum permitted water pressure for
use in the circuit is 300 kPa.
This appliance must be installed to AS/NZS
3500, our installation instructions and to New
Zealand Building Code G12
Fixing the panel and Solar Box must comply
with the current relevant sections of the New
Zealand Building Code and must not
compromise the structural integrity of the
building.
Materials and fittings used to install this
appliance must meet the requirements of
AS/NZS 3500.4:2003 Section 2.
This system must have a water softener
installed if the water PH levels are less than 6.5
or greater than 8.5 as per AS/NZS 3500.4
Appendix B.
All hot water pipes must be insulated to satisfy
the requirements of NZBC Clause H1.3.4,
except where connected to a heat dissipation
device.
The Operation of this equipment creates high
temperatures and pressures, so the equipment
should be positioned to avoid the risk of burns
and explosion.
The refrigerant gas used is R134a, a free of
CFCs, non-inflammable and harmless to the
ozone layer, but it must not be released into
the atmosphere by law.
Please read the following instructions before any
installation works or operation of the solar system
proceed.
The Thermodynamic Solar Box shall only be used
for the heating of fresh water only to temperature
limits indicated. The technical rules (see DIN 1988)
for the supply of water must be taken into account.
The thermodynamic solar panel shall be:
•
Outside;
•
In a place for good solar capture;
•
Secured according to the fixing instructions.
The Solar Box must not be positioned in:
•
The open air; or
•
In spaces that are potentially explosive due to
vapour or liquid gases.
Do not turn on the solar system:
•
With an empty hot water cylinder and Solar
Box
•
Without refrigerant fluid supply (R134a).
Electrical power must always be isolated before
working on the system. Solar Box construction and
assembly procedures comply with all relevant EC
directives and AS/NZS standards these must be
followed when making electrical connections to
the Solar Box.
This system is not intended to be operated,
adjusted or tampered with by young children or
infirm persons. Young children should be
supervised to ensure they do not play with the
system.
Installation, assembly and maintenance of Solar
Box thermodynamic solar system may only be
carried out by qualified personnel!
The installer should notify the customer of how
the equipment works, the inherent dangers and
the rights and obligations of the customer.
The system should not be switched off and on
regularly. It is designed to be left switched on.
(unless leaving the home vacant for an extended
period). Regular switching on & off invalidates the
warranty
