GYRO SYSTEM

In case of a failure of the directional gyro system, the trainer is equipped with a heading correction
system:

In normal operation the gyro switch will be in position SLAVE. In case of a failure of the directional
gyro system, setting the switches to position FREE will allow heading corrections on the heading
indicator by means of the +/- switch.

MAGNETIC COMPASS

The magnetic compass is located over the radio receivers and annunciators.

With the gyro in mode SLAVE, there is no deviation between the magnetic compass and the HSI.
Yet when the heading is changed suddenly, there will be a small delay until the magnetic compass
shows the correct indication.
