Press the
DETOUR
button in the
Guidance mode. A window appears
confirming the detour request.

The system recalculates the route around
the upcoming maneuver.
If during a route you require the system to detour around an obstacle, you may use the DETOUR
button to automatically recalculate a new route.

Using the Detour function
Note: The system will detour around the next
maneuver for about 5 miles ahead on free-
ways/expressways and the next 1 mile ahead
on surface streets.
DETOUR
The Message Board function allows your navigation system to receive text messages from the
OnGuard Response Center
SM
when connected to an Alpine Mobile Mayday System. The navigation
system will notify you of a pending message by displaying an icon on the screen and sounding a
tone. Use the following procedure to access received messages.
Using the Message Board
Press the
MENU
button to display the
main menu bar. Select
Info.
from the
main menu and press
ENTER
. The
Info.
menu
screen appears.
If an Alpine Mobile Mayday System is
connected and you have messages
waiting, the
Message
selection would be
available. Select
Message Board
and
press
ENTER
to view the list of
messages available. Scroll down the list
of messages to select the message to
be read.
