7.4.6 Alignement of bushes
For alignment of the coupling rod bush in the coupling rod, use the mark made on the coupling rod and the bush
ensure that are aligned the elongated holes axis of the bush and the coupling rod axis. The alignment is extremely
important as misalignment will make the pump noisy and can severely reduce the life of the coupling rod / bush to
the extent of instant snapping of the coupling rod on starting the pump.
7.5 Assembly procedure
7.5.1 Bracket
a. Assemble stuffing box with gland or mechanical seal with seal housing over the shaft (18). Insert water thrower
(63), over the shaft.
b. Plug the pump shaft over the drive shaft and exactly match the holes of both shaft and insert the spring dowel
pin. Offer the bracket to the driver flange in its position and secure the bracket with 4 hex nut screws with spring
washer.
7.5.2 Universal joint, coupling rod & rotor
Fit the coupling rod bush (22) in the coupling rod (20) in such a way that the elongated hole axis of the bushes is in
line with the coupling rod axis by using ordinary fly press. Insert the 'o' rings (32) in the groove on rotor head. Slide
the pin retainer sleeve (24) over the coupling rod, and fix the boot seal (33) on the coupling rod using the boot seal
retainer. Fill the shaft head with grease (refer the instruction for type of grease). Slip over the coupling rod pin (21)
through the holes on the shaft head. Fix the coupling rod with rotor (19) adopting the same procedure.
7.5.3 Pump housing, stator and end cover.
Offer the pump housing (11) to the bracket with

ring (29) in its position and secure the housing with 4 studs (40)
domed nuts (41) fispring washer (42). Fit the stator support ring (11a) in the pump housing, if provided. Wet the
stator (23) and thread it over the rotor. Screw the tie rods (27) in pump housing, fit the middle support (17), if
provided, and tighten it with nuts (48) & spring washer (49). Insert end cover (12) in its position (fit the supporting
ring in it, if provided) over the stator and secure it at its position with domed nuts (50) and spring washer (51) at the
ends.
Recheck that all the fasteners are fully tightened and for the completeness of the parts as per relevant drawing.
