5. STRUCTURE AND FUCTIONALITY
The following chapter gives information about the machine structure and the funcion of the single components.
5.1. FUNCTIONS
The Puma is suitable for the following tasks:
•
Tilling ground with large quantities of straw evenly and reliably
•
Stubble processing without preparatory work
•
Ploughing grassland without preparatory work
•
Tilling ground for mulch sowing
•
Working on seed beds
5.2. TINES
The tine rows are carried by the chassis. The space between the rows is of:
•
29 cm. for the Cayman CA model
•
31 cm. for the CB/CC models
The chassis height of 75 cm enables large quantities of straw to pass without becoming jammed.
The safety device against overloads varies depending on the setup of the machine:
•
Top-Mecc safety
•
Top-Spring safety
5.2.1. TOP-MECC SAFETY
The safety against overloads consists of a shear-bolt.
When the bolt against overloads is sheared, the chisel tine is disengaged
and it moves backwards, thereby freeing the machine from the obstacle.
In order to resume working, the shear-bolt must be replaced.
5.2.2. TOP-SPRING SAFETY
The safety against overloads consists of two compression springs, which are
compressed, thereby dampening the load, so as to overcome the obstacle.
Once the obstacle has been overcome, they return to their original
conditions and make it possible to resume work.
Never take a compression spring unit apart. This unit does not require any maintenance. If taking apart
becomes necessary, please contact your local dealer. The spring could cause heavy damage if suddenly
released.
