Power Supply
The switches use a 40W universal internal switching power supply with 100 to
120 VAC, or 200 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz input rating.
Allied Telesyn ships power cords with the units to the U.S., Continental
Europe, the U.K., and Australia.
Required Voltage
The switches require input of 100 to 240 VAC. Maximum power consumption is
20W.
Auto-Negotiation
The 10/100 Mbps ports on the following models are capable of auto-negotiation:
❑
Ports A and B on the AT-RS710TX and the AT-RS718TX
❑
All 8 ports on the AT-FS708
This means these ports automatically adapt to the wire speed (10 or 100 Mbps)
and duplex transmission (half or full) supported by the link without user
reconfiguration.
Auto-negotiation is an optional function of the IEEE 802.3u Fast Ethernet
standard that enables devices (switches) to automatically exchange
information over a link about their speed and duplex abilities. This allows
devices to perform automatic configurations to achieve the maximum common
level of operation over a link. Auto-negotiation can provide automatic speed
matching for multispeed devices at each end of a link. Multispeed Ethernet
interfaces can then take advantage of the highest speed offered by the 10/100
ports on the switch.
