BEFORE YOU DRIVE
FAILURE
In the event of failure of the hydraulic and
electric soft top movement systems, the icon
will illuminate on the display accompanied
by a message indicating that automatic
movement is not available.
In these cases, check that the soft top is in a safe
position, and if not, complete the movement
manually. Subsequently, try and move the
windows using the respective controls; if
they do not move, push and hold the the soft
top movement switch down for more than 5
seconds, which will activate the window controls
and the luggage compartment lid opening
control.
WARNING:
If a soft top failure is indicated on the
display, go to an
Authorised Service Centre of
the Manufacturer’s Network
to have the fault
corrected.
If the automatic soft top movement system fails
during or before its movement cycle it can be
completed manually.
The soft top system is also capable of managing
partial failure conditions:
- The system will detect a window movement
failure after opening or closing has been
requested by pushing the movement
switch up or down. Implementing a self-
preservation strategy, which allows only
the closing operation, the system displays
a message asking you to check that the
windows are in a safe position (lowered
by a few centimetres). After checking this,
the soft top movement can be activated
by holding the soft top movement switch
pushed up for at least 5 seconds. At this
point, the normal cycle is shown on the
display accompanied by an acoustic signal
- If a normal soft top movement cycle is
interrupted for more than 300 seconds, the
system displays a message requesting that
the operation be completed. If this were
not possible, it asks you to check that the
soft top is in a safe position (completely
open and folded into the soft top housing,
or closed and locked to the windscreen).
After checking this and completing the
operation manually if necessary, to re-
enable the window movement and luggage
compartment lid opening controls, push the
soft top switch twice, the fi rst time briefl y
and the second time longer.
