ROUBLESHOOTING
If you experience problems while operating your QS6.1, please use the following
table to check for possible causes and solutions
before
contacting Alesis customer
service for assistance. Some of them may seem rather obvious, but youÕd be amazed
at how easy it can be to overlook the basics.
Symptom

Solution
The display does not light
up when the ON/OFF
switch is turned on.
No power.
Check that the power cable
is plugged in properly.
No sound.
Bad connections.
Check your audio cables; if
necessary, swap cables.
Volume is turned down.
Raise the
[VOLUME]
slider
or Pedal 1.
Keyboard Mode is set
incorrectly.
Set the Keyboard Mode to
NORMAL (Global Editing,
display page 6).
External MIDI device
sent Volume (CC#7) or
Expression (CC#11)
Switch QS6.1 from Mix
Mode to Program Mode or
vice versa.
commands with a value
approaching 0.
Re-transmit higher values
from MIDI device.
MIDI input in Mix mode
Bad connections.
Check MIDI cables.
isnÕt working (i.e., you
canÕt control your unit via
MIDI from a sequencer or
some other controller).
MIDI IN is switched off
for one or more channels.
Make sure the MIDI IN
parameter is turned on for
the channel(s) you wish to
control via MIDI.
Keyboard Play Mode is
set incorrectly.
Serial port enabled.
Set the Keyboard to Mix
Play Mode (push Mix
button.
Set I/O parameter to MIDI
(Global Edit Mode, page
15).
Notes sustain
continuously.
Sustain pedal was
plugged in after power
was turned on.
Turn the unitÕs power off,
wait a moment, and then
turn it on again.
Stuck notes due to
incomplete MIDI data.
Switch QS6.1 from Mix
Mode to Program Mode or
vice versa.
Notes played from QS6.1
