20. Install Spring Arbor (

) onto the Main Shaft and 

secure with Setscrew (

• Make sure the Setscrew contacts the flat of the Main 

Shaft.

: Certain models contain a plastic

Spring Arbor (

) that attaches to the Main

Shaft with a Key.

21. Install Snap Ring (

) onto the Main Shaft.

• Use care not to mar the surface of the Main Shaft.

22. Make sure the position of Spring Case Gasket (

) is 

properly aligned on the Sheave Assembly.
• Hold the Gasket in place with spots of grease.

 

WARNING

 

Power Spring can uncoil during tie wrap

 

removal. Personal injury can occur.

 

23. Carefully remove the tie wraps from the Power Spring.

24. Install the Spring Case and Ratchet Assembly onto the 

Power Spring and Sheave Assembly.
• Make sure the hole in the Spring Case and Ratchet 

Assembly engages the Spring Case Stud.

• Make sure to the Gasket is positioned properly.

25. Install Jam Nut (

) that secures the Stud to the Spring 

Case and Ratchet Assembly.
• Tighten the Nut securely.

26. Install Locknuts (

) that secure the Spring Case and 

Ratchet Assembly to the Sheave Assembly.
• Tighten the Locknuts securely.

27. Install additional Snap Ring (

) onto the Main Shaft.

• Use care not to mar the surface of the Main Shaft.

 

Base Assembly

 

28. Install the Base, Guide and Roller Assembly onto the 

Spring Case and Ratchet Assembly.

29. Align Setscrew (

) with the mark on the Main Shaft.

30. Tighten the Setscrew that secures the Main Shaft to 

Base Assembly.

31. Bench Test the reel.

• Refer to the section entitled 

 

Bench Test

 

 for details.

 

Overhaul

 

NOTE

Disassembly

 

IMPORTANT: Prior to disassembly, release
tension on Power Spring (

  1. Pull on the material hose to disengage the ratchet on 

Spring Case and Ratchet Assembly (

).

  2. Allow the material hose to retract onto the reel.

  3. Turn the reel in the same direction until the Power 

Spring bypasses Spring Arbor (

• A pronounced “click” will sound.

 

Spring Case and Ratchet Assembly

 

Follow procedures 1-17 in the section entitled 

 

Remove 

and Replace Spring Arbor and Power Spring

Sheave Assembly

 

  4. Remove Spring Case Gasket (

Assembly.

  5. Remove the Main Shaft assembly from the bottom of 

the Sheave Assembly.

 

Medium-Pressure Swivel Assembly

 

The medium-pressure swivel assembly can be 

disassembled. O-Rings (

NOTE

 

: The obsolete medium-pressure

swivel can also be repaired with a kit.

High-Pressure Swivel Assembly

 

The high-pressure swivel assembly cannot be repaired. 

It is serviced as an assembly.

 

Base Assembly

 

  6. Remove Nut (

• Remove the Machine Screw and Latch Bushing (

  7. Remove Latch Stud Nut (
