FRS/FRE card circuits should not be used to terminate CPSS due to performance
reasons. DCP cards should be used for this purpose.

Telco Alarm module
The Telco Alarm module (Alarm module 2) now supports the audible alarm indicators
for standard alarming in Release 7.x and later releases. The minimum variant ID for
the Telco Alarm module is now $5 (80-1282-01-01). With the older variant, audible
alarm indicators will not function.

Enhanced packet communication fault handling
A new feature was added to Release 7.x to provide enhanced communication with the
packet-based UCS cards. New releases of the packet-based card firmware are required
to obtain this new functionality. Older releases of the card firmware will still work in
Release 7.x and later releases, but only with the same functionality that they had in the
older releases.
The minimum firmware required for the enhanced packet communication fault
handling is:

Number of CPCs in a 3600 MainStreet single, dual, or PU shelf
It is recommended that no more than one CPC be installed in a 3600 MainStreet
single, dual, or PU shelf. An acceptable alternative is two CPCs with at least half the
total circuits set to Interface Type = NONE.
