1. DESCRIPTION
1.1. The HVM0002C01
The HVM0002C01 is a dual SDI-to-DVI digital video signal converter.
The HVM0002C01 provides two BNC connectors that correspond to two electrical SDI
interfaces that can be independently configured as inputs or outputs and a cage for an
optional SFP module that provides two optical SDI interfaces that can be inputs or
outputs depending upon the type of module installed.
The HVM0002C01 can be configured so that the signal used in one section is taken from
one of the two interfaces (electrical or optical) of that section or from one of the
interfaces of the adjacent section. In addition the signal being delivered by each section
can be simultaneously distributed to the electrical and optical interfaces of that same
section.
The DVI output delivers a video signal with the same format as the SDI input but allows
selection of which audio groups will be embedded in the DVI signal.
Each section of the HVM0002C01 includes an audio analyzer that measures loudness,
true peak level and the phase correlation for each audio channel embedded in the video
signal. This information along with the timecode information can be superimposed onto
the image being received.
The HVM0002C01 includes analog audio outputs for headphones via a stereo jack. The
audio pair to be monitored can be selected and its level adjusted.
The HVM0002C01 also includes four GPIs and four GPOs. The GPIs are used to load the
first four presets and the GPOs indicate whether or not the video signal at the input is
valid.
The HVM0002C01 has been designed to operate independently and hence does not
require installation in a rack. The unit features robust aluminum construction and
supports a wide range of operating temperatures.
The HVM0002C01's factory settings are suitable for most common applications. If
desired the unit´s operation can be monitored or its configuration changed changed by
connecting a computer through a USB port.
