4.2. Configuration from the front panel
The DSW3000C03 has three operating modes: Automatic, Semiautomatic and Manual.
Selection of the operating mode is performed by sustained presses of the SELECT button
on the MODE box. Pressing the button cycles through the three modes in this order:
Automatic Mode, Semiautomatic Mode and Manual Mode.
4.3. Functional description
4.3.1. Operation in Automatic Mode
This operating mode establishes a set of priorities under which the main input has the
highest priority and the auxiliary input has the lowest. The DSW3000C03
automatically selects the highest priority input that does not have any errors. In the
case that all three inputs have errors, the DSW3000C03 uses the last input that was
selected before the errors began.
An error condition is registered when the LOS detector or the AIS detector activate or
when that input's corresponding GPI error input is connected to ground.
Each time that the DSW3000C03 changes the selected input the FAILURE LED begins
to blink and an acoustic beep sounds. These two error indicators are shut off by
pressing the RESET button. The re-establishment of proper conditions prior to
activation of the alarm does not deactivate the alarm indicators These will continue to
blink/beep until the RESET button is pressed.
In order to avoid unnecessary switching the recovery time of the automatic switch
after an error condition has been cleared is 15 seconds. Also, when an error is detected
at a given input, the DSW3000C03 will only switch to the next highest priority input if
that input is receiving a valid signal.
