Cyclic redundancy check character
Block 1 contains the most significant bits of the status channel. Each of these bits can
be replaced by other, desired values. Block 2 allows modification of the source and the
destination mnemonics. Block 3 allows erasure of the content of the field be inserting
zeros. Block 4 reports the reliability of the bits contained in the 22 bytes previous to
the status channel. The redundancy check (CRCC) is always calculated based upon the
status of the 23 bytes previous to the status channel. The content of bytes 14, 15, 16
and 17 are always zero coming from the DAT3000C01.
The DAT3000C01 comes from the factory set to replacement mode, meaning that it
substitutes the contents in Block 1, 2, 3 and 4 with the values stored in the module's
memory. The default values are displayed in the previous table.
4.2.4. Description of the processing unit
The DAT3000C01 contains an audio signal processing unit that includes a small
selection matrix from four inputs to four outputs, independent level adjustment for
each output of the matrix and two summing circuits. The following image explains
the operation of the processing unit with all switches in their default,
factory-configured positions.
The selection matrix allows connection of any of the four audio channels to any of the
four outputs. The matrix is not a blocking type, and therefore one of the inputs can be
connected to all four outputs.
The 180° phase inversion circuits can reverse the polarity of each of the audio signals.
The DAT3000C01 comes from the factory with the phase inverters shorted out.
The level control can adjust the gain independently for each output signal of the
matrix. The adjustment range comprises 127 steps of 0.5dB each extending from
-39.5dB to +24dB. Each signal can also be muted. It is important to keep in mind that
when a signal exceeds the full scale value it will be clipped. For this reason gain should
only be applied to the signals when assurance is given that they will not exceed the
