4.2.3. Processing of the channel status bits
The DAT3000C01 manages the status channels of the two subframes as one sole
channel in each section. More specifically, the module only uses the status channel of
incoming Subframe 1 to create the status channel for both outgoing subframes (1
and 2). The DAT3000C01 generates the status channel using a professional
configuration and always calculates the CRC.
There are two modes of operation with respect to the status channel. In the first
mode, the input status channel is constructed by recovering the information in the
input status channel information and relocating the corresponding bits to the output
status channel. In the second mode, a portion of the status bits can be replaced by
other bits stored in the EEPROM of the module that can be modified by the user.
Selection of the status channel operation mode is performed via the control software.
This is done by acting upon four of the 24 blocks of bytes contained in the status
channel. These four blocks and their default status coming from the factory are
displayed in the following table. Note that the bits of the last byte (CRCC) are always
calculated and that their status depends upon the 184 previous bits.
The field corresponding to the source alphanumeric code (Block 2) is labeled DAT1'' in
the first section of the DAT3000C01 and DAT2'' in the field corresponding to the
second section.
