3.1.11 Secure and tension the primary guy ropes
1)
The three loose primary guy ropes can now be secured to the corresponding guy rope
anchor points on the mounting structure.
2)
The guy ropes can now be tensioned using the tensioning clips provided.
Warning. Failure to properly secure and tension ALL primary guy
ropes will result in the antenna structure collapsing when the mast is
deployed.
3.1.12 Release antenna elements
1)
Release the strap around the mast used to secure the antenna elements.
2)
The strap is there to secure the radial arms onto the mast when stored in the enclosure.
3.1.13 Extend the mast
1)
The mast can now be extended by using the remote control of the compressor.
2)
Push the button to the up position.
When the mast is being erected the air supply must be manned at all
times.
3)
While the mast is been erected make sure all cables are free and not tangled. Stop
immediately in case a cable gets stuck or tangled by setting the remote control button
to the middle position.
4)
In the unlikely event that a cable forming part of the antenna‟s mechanism get stuck or
entangled, it may be necessary to free these cables. This is best done by allowing the
mast to drop slightly by setting the compressor remote control in the „down‟ position
for a few seconds, then using an implement such as a short pole to manipulate the
antenna mechanism cables. Hands should be kept clear of the mechanism to avoid
injury.
Hands should be kept clear of the antenna deploying mechanism and
cables at all times, especially during deployment or whilst
disentangling cables.
