CAUTION!
The domestic water system may not be
used for any other than its designated
use. Before putting the system into ope-
ration, make sure that
the pump, reservoir, the electric ca-
ble and the plug are not worn or da-
maged.
STARTUP
CAUTION!
When attaching the suction and pressure
hoses, make sure that they do not exert
a tension on the device. We recommend
the use of flexible hoses at the pump inlet
(11) and outlet (8). If you have any ques-
tions, ask your retailer.
CAUTION!
When operating the system (automatic
operation), take appropriate measures to
ensure that damage due to flooding can-
not occur if the system should malfunc-
tion. This can be ensured, for instance,
by installing an alarm system or a re-
serve pump.
Place the device onto a hard, flat surface so
that it cannot tip over and so that it will not be
near the flow of water.
Make sure that electrical plug connectors are
place in an area that is safe from flooding.
Make sure that the device is protected from
rain and any direct exposure to water.
Attaching the suction hose
CAUTION!
Choose a hose which is long enough so
that the device will not suck in air and run
dry. The hose should be at least 30cm
under the surface of the liquid to be pum-
ped while the pump is in operation.
1. Mount a non-return valve in the suction hose
to prevent the liquid from running back out of
the pump.
2. Attach the suction hose. Make sure to screw
it in tightly, but take care not to damage the
threads.
3. Before pumping sandy water, you must in-
sert a pre-filter (17) (only HWA 1001 Inox)
between the suction hose and the pump in-
let or you will dam- age your domestic wa-
ter system. The filter is available at your local
retailer’s.
4. When laying the suction hose, make sure that
it is lower than the system.
ADVICE
If the liquid to be pumped is deeper than
4 m, you should use a suction hose
which is larger than 1“ in diameter for the
best performance. We recommend our
AL-KO suction set (18), which consists of
a suction hose, strainer and non-return
valve. The suction set is available at your
local retailer’s.
ADVICE
If the suction hose is laid so that it is hig-
her than the device, bubbles will be come
trapped in the line and the pump will suck
air.
Mounting the pressure switch (hydrocontrol)
Screw the connection nipple (13) with seal ring for
pump outlet (12) on the pump outlet. Pay attention
to have a tight connection without damaging the
threads. Screw the pressure switch (1) with flat
seal ring (14) with the connection nipple (13).
CAUTION!
The arrow printed on the pressure switch
(1) must point in the direction of flow.
CAUTION!
The system does not function properly if:
The pumping point 15 m lies higher
than the water system.
The arrow printed on the pressure
switch (1) does not point in the flow
direction.
The pressure switch is not mounted
in upright position.
Attaching the pressure hose
1. Attach the pressure hose. Make sure to screw
it in tightly, but take care not to damage the
threads.
