Many digital terrestrial TV channels not only broadcast pictures
and sound, but also pages of information
on the programmes, weather, news and many other topics. Some channels are given over entirely to
digital teletext and carry no programme at all. When such a channel is selected, after a brief pause, they
will usually display the opening page of information automatically.
Other channels have digital teletext pages broadcast alongside the TV programme and often include a
reduced size broadcast picture within the teletext page. To open
these pages you must press the TEXT
button on the remote control.
In both cases, moving through the different pages of information
is accomplished in a variety of ways,
dependant upon the individual broadcasters, but include the use of the

To exit the teletext function press the “TEXT”
button again.
Calling for the information banner, or any menu on-screen stops the racier from displaying the teletext
pages and they are replaced by a blank picture while the banner or menu is displayed.
Note :- Digital Teletext cannot be displayed while subtitles are enabled.
There are some channels carrying MHEG5 data which brings more plentiful information and more
powerful interaction, such as “Hidden Channels”
eg
BBC Sport. If a station is carrying MHEG5 data you
will be informed to press the RED button to select that option.
After MHEG5 has started there will be some operational hints on the TV screen to enhance its operation.

the incoming picture is 16:9 widescreen format) or “Letterbox”
