3.3 Connecting PoE to iR460
The shielded CAT5e UV resistant cable coming from PoE needs to be connected to the iR460 PoE
port through a gland.

Weatherproofing the PoE Connectors
3.3.2
To weatherproof the connector gland, perform the following steps:
1. Apply a layer of self-amalgamating tape to the weather-exposed connector.
2. Apply a layer of PVC tape to cover the self-amalgamating tape completely. Wrap the PVC
tape tightly to avoid any creases or folds that might form traps for water.
