The D-D Rings retention system works effectively only if the strap has been properly introduced into the retention rings,

According to the current European type approval standard UN/ECE 22 the rider should be able to wear and take off the helmet without
removing completely the strap from the rings, in order to prevent an improper use of the helmet and also to avoid that the helmet is not
properly fastened, (

). For this reason the helmet is provided with the strap properly introduced into the rings and already fastened to

the rings.

Never remove the strap end from the rings.

If, while cleaning or performing maintenance, the strap slips off the rings, properly fasten the strap again as shown in

Once the strap has been introduced into the rings, wear the helmet and fasten it as per specific instructions, checking retention and take
off procedures.

The red fastener on the strap end is merely used to prevent the free strap end from fluttering; it is not part of the retention

system. Moreover, the system is equipped with a red strap for quick release. Just pull as indicated in

 to activate it.

Use the red strap only to remove the helmet; never use it while riding.

Instructions for Use:
Wearing the Helmet

-Check that the retention system is fastened as indicated in

.

-Unfasten the red snap button fixing the strap.
-Loosen the strap by pulling the red quick release flap, without removing it completely from the rings,
-Pull the chin strap towards the front side of the helmet with your thumbs, so as not to interfere with the face, and wear the helmet.
-Pull the free strap end until the strap presses on your chin; adjust the retention system as per specific instructions.
-Engage the male and female snap buttons to prevent the strap from fluttering.

Now try to slide off the helmet from the head by pulling it from the back edge. If the helmet tends to slip off your head, repeat the
adjustment by further fastening the strap and try to slide off the helmet again;

the helmet, when fastened, should not move on your

head.

Removing the Helmet

-Unfasten the snap button fixing the strap.
-Pull the red strap as indicated in

, and loosen the strap without removing it from the rings.

-Pull the pre-fastened strap towards the front side of the helmet with your thumbs, so as not to interfere with the face.
-Pull off the helmet from your head.

Always check the fastening strength of the strap by pulling the chin strap and rotating the helmet forward on your head.

Tampering or other events which could compromise the effectiveness of the system should never be excluded. If the double ring retention
system does not work properly, adjust it is correctly; otherwise avoid using the helmet.

2.. Outer Shell

The outer shell has been designed in 3 different sizes. It is made of layers of Kevlar and Carbon and is completely handmade. The
technology used includes a top ribbing that hardens the shell and increases its resistance and ensures the best shock absorption
performance.  The aerodynamic penetration coefficient has been implemented through the research and development studies carried out
in the wind tunnel.

3.. GP500 Visor

The visor GP500 100% Max Vision has been specifically designed and arranged for races. At the same time, it has been type-
approved for road use, therefore ensuring high performance also in everyday use.
The visor has a high quality of vision, is scratch-resistant and is moulded in PC Lexan®. The thickness of the visor varies on the
external part in order to ensure more resistance, whereas in the central part, where the anti-fog FS Pinlock visor is located, the
visor is thinner thus guaranteeing the best quality of vision in this area.
The standard visor consists of:

--External eccentric pins;

for the use of the tear-off visors, (available as accessory).

--FS Pinlock 100% Max Vision

the innovative anti-fog system FS Pinlock is located inside the visor.

--Locking button;

it prevents the visor from accidentally opening especially at high speed.

Do not treat the visor with oils, solvents, paints, adhesive substances and other chemicals that may alter and impair its

optical and mechanical properties.

If the visor shows scratches or marks that can impair vision, it should be replaced only with original Airoh spare parts.

3a. Visor Mechanism GP 500

The visor mechanism GP500 allows for self-adjustment, thanks to its elliptical movement and to the spring-operated mechanism,
thus guaranteeing a better sealing of the visor against the trims and preventing any penetrations and continuous adjustments of
the system. The mechanism allows three adjustment positions of the visor and thanks to the clip-on covers it also allows for a
quick tool-free visor removal.

Removing the Visor

:

-Press the button located on the mechanism cover towards the inner of the helmet,
-Press and hold the button, turn the cover of 90° counter-clockwise and remove it,
-Repeat the same steps on the other side, then remove the visor

Installing the Visor

:

-Place the visor on the helmet and insert the slots on the outside of the respective seats on the visor,
-Place the first cover in its seat paying attention that the lever is upwards as shown in the figure, then turn it clockwise by 90°

-Make sure that the locking lever is locked into place in the respective seat, otherwise arrange for it.
-Repeat the same steps on the other side.
Check for the correct operation of the mechanism and repeat the above-mentioned steps if necessary.

Only use compressed air, water and mild soap to clean the mechanism.

-The mechanism is spring-operated and the materials used are self-lubricating, so it does not need lubrication.

3b. Tear-Off* Eccentric Pins (available as accessory)

The GP500 visor is equipped with eccentric pins on the outside for the application of Tear-Off visors. These are applied over the
visor and have the specific function to protect and clean it thanks to their tear-off removal.

The Tear-Off visors must be used only during racing competitions; do not use them on the road since they are not type-

approved for this use. Their functioning is simple: When during a competition vision is impaired by bugs, or dirt, the tear-off visor
can be removed by tearing off the loose end with the left hand; the visor beneath will be clean.
