2. Device Layout

2.1 Overview

Device Description

The AirID FIDO is a family of wireless, flexible FIDO Security Keys, providing secure FIDO compliant strong, hardware based user authentication. 
They are available either in a very small form factor (the AirID FIDO Mini) or as a BADGE holder (the AirID FIDO BADGE) to hold and present 
standard ID cards.

The AirID FIDO connects to Desktops, Laptops or Tablets via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or USB (Q2/21). The BluetoothLE connection of AirID 
FIDO is encrypted and protected from spoofing and Man-in-the-Middle-Attacks by a secure pairing process.

AirID FIDO is powered by a rechargeable Li-Po battery. The battery is charged by plugging the AirID into either a computer or external USB wall 
adapter using the USB cable provided. The LCD display shows all setting information and status of the reader. The user-friendly control element helps 
you to navigate through the settings of the device.

Bluetooth Connected Mode Usage

The AirID FIDO allows to protect Apps with FIDO2 based security keys via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

USB Connected Mode Usage

AirID FIDO can be used as a standard USB FIDO security key on all PCs with a common operating system* supporting the FIDO standard

(* Windows 10 20H2, MacOS Big Sur and Linux).
