Features
F eatures under the 4 DISK 5 k ey allo w y ou to sa v e measuremen t, calibration, or instrumen t state
information to disc. This information can b e retrieved when desired. Y ou can use the built-in
in ternal disk driv e, or compatible external disk driv es. External driv es m ust b e connected
to the system bus. Y ou can con trol these devices using the 4 DISK 5 k ey in the A UXILIAR Y
MENUS blo c k, and its asso ciated men us.
The 4 DISK 5 k ey and related men us allo w y ou to:
Store les (sav e v arious t yp es of data to in ternal or external disc).
Load les (load a disk le con taining data).
Delete les from in ternal or external disc.
Un-Delete the last le y ou deleted.
View a directory of les
Initialize new discs.
Use in ternal or external disk driv es.
Both in ternal disk and SS/80 t yp e external disk driv es can pro vide data storage for
instrumen t states, calibration error co ecien t sets, calibration kit denitions, measuremen t
data, memory data, hardw are states, user display memory , dela y table, or mac hine dump
(these terms are dened later in this c hapter).
Compatible Disk Types, Disk Storage Capacity
The net w ork analyzer can initialize opp y discs using DOS format or Logical In terface F ormat
(LIF). DOS format is used b y PC compatibles, LIF is used b y HP 9000 series 200/300
w orkstations. The HP 8530 uses high-densit y or low-densit y 3.5 inc h discs. Use only c ertie d
double-side d discs or you may c ause exc essive we ar to the disk drive.
