Step 6. Compensate probes
Compensate probes to match your probe to the input channel. You should
compensate a probe whenever you attach it for the first time to any input
channel.
Low Frequency Compensation
For the supplied passive probes:

Set the Probe menu attenuation to 10X. If you use the probe hooktip,
ensure a proper connection by firmly inserting the tip onto the probe.

Attach the probe tip to the probe compensation connector and the
ground lead to the probe compensator ground connector.

Press the
[Auto Scale]
front panel key.

If waveform does not appear like the Correctly Compensated waveform
shown in
, then use a nonmetallic tool to adjust the low
frequency compensation adjustment on the probe for the flattest square
wave possible.
