Setting the parameters for Standalone Mode
You do not need a controller to use the VariFlame’s
Standalone Mode
. This mode accommodates one or
two LED temperature probes. The heater will maintain the temperature set in the heater burner control
unit (BCU) at the time of installation.
What You Should Know
You have to cycle through all of the parameters and confirm any changes at the end of the cycle. The
Standalone Menu
contain the following parameters:
Start Temperature —
The temperature at which the VariFlame starts.
Stop Temperature —
The temperature at which the VariFlame stops.
Maximum Runtime —
It is defined as a duration in minutes, for which the heater may run continuously
without reaching the stop temperature; if the loop reaches the Maximum Runtime before reaching the
Stop Temperature, it shuts down regardless of the current temperature.
To set the Standalone Mode parameters:
1. On the controller, push either the
Up
or
Down
button until the
Operation Modes Menu
appears,
then push the
Enter
button.
2. Push either the
Up
or
Down
button to scroll through the operation modes until
Standalone
appears,
then push
Enter
.
3. Push the
Up
or
Down
button to change the
Start Temperature
to the desired temperature, then
push the
Enter
button to set.
NOTE:
The default temperature is 67.0°F and pushing the up and down buttons modifies the tem-
perature in 0.1° increments. The range can be set from 32°F to 113°F.
4. Push the
Up
or
Down
button to change the
Stop Temperature
to the desired temperature, then
push the
Enter
button to set.
NOTE:
The default temperature is 69.0°F and pushing the up and down buttons modifies the tem-
perature in 0.1° increments. The range can be set from 32.5°F to 122°F.
5. Push the
Up
or
Down
button to change the
Max Run Time
to the desired time.
NOTE:
The default time is 120 minutes. Pushing the up and down buttons modifies the time in 15
minute increments. The range can be set from 0 to 900 minutes.
6. Push the
Enter
button twice to confirm and set.
