Chapter 5: Controller Settings

Standalone Menu
Setting the parameters for Legacy Mode
The on/off signal from a legacy controller will trigger the heater. The VariFlame unit will synchronize the
target temperature with the temperature set point used in the legacy control to maintain a consistent room
temperature.
What You Should Know
You have to cycle through all of the parameters and confirm any changes at the end of the cycle. The
Legacy Menu
contain the following parameters:
Maximum run time —
It is defined as a duration in minutes, for which the heater may run continuously
without reaching the stop temperature; if the loop reaches the Maximum Runtime before reaching the
Stop Temperature, it shuts down regardless of the current temperature.
Failsafe offset —
Offset applied to the temperature at which the supplied input voltage provided is above
the defined activation threshold. The resulting temperature is used as a temperature setpoint at which the
controller switches to a Failsafe mode.
Failsafe curve adjust —
The value by which the failsafe start temperature diminishes everyday. (This
value is divided by 7 since it is defined for one complete week.)
