Solution
The VariFlame controller
does not communicate on
the EDGE network
Verify if the controller is powered up
Verify if there are activities on the bus communication by looking at the activities of
the LEDs: AUTO-RX, AUTO-TX, SAFE-RX, SAFE-TX.
Verify if the network link is installed correctly: Terminal A from VariFlame controller
to the Main Controller terminal A, Terminal B from VariFlame controller to the Main
Controller terminal B
Verify if the network communication is installed in daisy chain.
Verify if your end of line (EOL) are set correctly on your EDGE network
Verify if the network link is not cut: the wire is cut or the protections are activated
Verify if there is not a short-circuit on the network link between terminal A and B
Verify if the network link length is below 4000 feet (1200m) with the recommended
wire gage.
The VariFlame controller
does not power up
Verify if the LED "3.3V" or "5V" is activated on the PCB-443
Verify if the wires are installed correctly
Verify if the disconnect switch or the circuit breaker is opened
Verify if the fuse F17 burned up, changed it after removing the fault and shutting
down the VariFlame controller
Issues with inputs sensors
Verify if the sensor wiring is conformed to the wiring diagrams
Verify if the sensor is connected at the right terminal
Verify if the sensor configuration is set correctly on the VariFlame controller or on
the EDGE Main controller if the EDGE mode is used
No heating with a heating
command activation
Verify if the VariFlame is in the lockout mode, take note the code error or the mes-
sage on the user interface
Power the heater on and off to leave the lock out mode
Try to find the issue with the firmware code. Power the heater on and off to leave
the lock out mode after solving the issue
