PLASMACLUSTER
Each RePuro unit is supplied as standard
with a
Plasmacluster
filter.
Plasmacluster
is a system of ion genera-
tion suitable for the purification of internal
spaces. It works by deactivating bacteria
and viruses present in the air.
It is not an electrostatic filter, having an air
purification mechanism. Using a genera-
tor it decomposes certain water molecules
present in the air (humidity) by electrical
discharges, creating a flow of hydrogen and
oxygen ions.
Molecules or atoms electrically charged
are called ions. The process of electron
gain or loss is called ionisation. Ionisation
is normally carried out by the application
of high energy to the atoms, in the form of
electrical potential or radiation. . An ion-
ised gas is called “plasma”.
The positive and negative ions thus gener-
ated are supplied to the space, transport-
ed by the treated air flow, and attract the
water molecules present creating “clus-
ters” of molecules.
As the process continuous these clusters
collect around a pollutant agent (for ex-
ample, a virus). At this point positive and
negative ions unite to form the hydroxyl
radical OH- which removes the hydrogen
from the surrounded virus, necessary for
its survival.
From the hydroxyl OH- acquiring the hy-
drogen, water is produced which is intro-
duced to the space; the virus is damaged
by the reaction and therefore eradicated.
The

purification process is
completed.
