Safety system
Th is appliance is eq uipped w ith a boildry
safety cut- out. Th is feature protects th e
appliance from overh eating w h en started
w ith out w ater or from boiling until it is
em pty if used w ith th e lid open. If th e
appliance is accidently sw itch ed on w ith out
w ater, it is autom atically protected against
overh eating. Th e h eating process is
autom atically interrupted. Before using th e
k ettle again let it cool dow n for 5- 10 m inutes.
Cleaning and care
Alw ays disconnect th e k ettle from th e m ains
supply before cleaning.
Never clean th e k ettle and base unit under
running w ater or im m erse it in w ash ing- up
w ater.
Occasionally rinse out th e k ettle w ith clean
w ater.
Clean th e outside of th e appliance only using
a dam p cloth . Do not use any caustic or
abrasive cleansing agents.
H old th e m esh filter (B) at grip (1) and lift
insert out for cleaning.
W ash it in w arm soapy w ater and dry
th orough ly before replacing in th e k ettle.
Th e h eating base is m ade of stainless steel. If,
h ow ever, spots of rust appear, th ese are only
deposits adh ering to th e surface. Th ey can be
rem oved w ith a stainless steel cleaning agent.
Descaling
Lim e scale deposits on th e bottom of th e
k ettle result in loss of energy and can affect
th e service life of th e appliance. Th e appliance
sw itch es off before boiling if th e layer of
scale is too th ick . It is th en very difficult to
rem ove. Th e appliance sh ould be descaled
regularly depending on th e level of th e w ater
h ardness. Use a standard descaler follow ing
th e directions; preferably ch oose an
environm entally friendly, descaling agent
suitable for stainless steel according to th e
instructions from th e m anufacturer.
First fill in w ater, th en a standard descaling
preparation w h ich is not too strong.
Alternatively: fill th e k ettle w ith 3 cups of
w h ite vinegar and th e rem ainder w ith w ater
and allow to stand overnigh t. DO NOT BOIL.
Do not boil th e solution as it could foam over.
After descaling, rinse th e k ettle out
th orough ly w ith clean w ater. Never pour
descaling agents into an enam el sink and do
not reuse th em .

Treat w ith standard com m ercial descaling
agent suitable for stainless steel. Note th e
directions for use from th e m anufacturer.

– Close lid until it lock s.
– Insert th e strainer correctly.
• th e k ettle pours badly?
– D escale th e strainer insert.
• th e appliance cannot be sw itch ed on?
– after operating w ith very little or no w ater,
th e appliance h as not yet cooled
sufficiently. W ait a sh ort tim e before trying
again.
