3.3.7 CPU Installation 

The  SKY-8260S  normally  ships  as  a  pre-configured  system  with  CPUs  and  memory 
installed.  Installing  CPUs requires trained  personal, special  tools  and  a full  production 
environment. 
 
In  the  unlikely  case  that  you  need  to  install  CPUs  by  yourself,  please  contact  your 
Advantech representative as product warranty may be impacted.   
 
To install AMD CPU, please follow the steps below: 
1. 

Loosen in 3, 2, 1 order.   

2. 

Lift  up  socket  lid  and  carrier  frame  holder,  then  remove  socket  protector.  Do  not 
touch pins in socket. 

3. 

Slide down until processor clicks into place. 

4. 

Carefully lower CPU in frame holder onto socket until clicked down. Lower socket 
lid

.

 

5. 

Tighten in 1, 2, 3 order until wrench clicks

.
