POC Terminal Cleaning and Disinfecting
During normal use, the POC terminal may become dirty. Thus, the device should be
cleaned regularly.
Steps for Cleaning
1.
Prepare cleaning agent as per the manufacturer’s instructions or the hospital’s
protocol.
2.
Moisten a cloth with a suitable appropriate cleaning solution.
3.
Use the moistened cloth to wipe the POC terminal thoroughly.
Below is a list of chemical disinfectants that have been tested and approved for use
on the POC terminal.

Caution!
Do not immerse or rinse the POC terminal or peripherals in liquid. If
liquid is accidentally spilled on the device, disconnect the unit from
the power source. Contact your Biomed Department regarding the
continued safety of the unit before returning it to operation.
Do not spray cleaning agents on the chassis.
Do not use disinfectants that contain phenol. Do not autoclave or
clean the POC terminal or peripherals with strong aromatic, chlori-
nated, ketone, ether, or esther solvents, nor sharp tools or abra-
sives. Never immerse electrical connectors in water or other liquid.
