2.2.2 Connecting the Grounding Pin
1. 1.Locate the equipotential terminal pin on the underside of the POC terminal.
(This pin is provided to enable optional connection with the hospital’s grounding/
earthing system.)

2. Prepare the grounding cable and connect it to the hospital’s grounding/earthing
system connectors.

3. Connect the grounding cable plug to the equipotential terminal pin.
2.3 Running the BIOS Setup Program
The POC-WP242 is likely to have been properly set up and configured by your dealer
prior to delivery. Nonetheless, you may still find it necessary to use the Basic Input-
Output System (BIOS) setup program to adjust the system information, such as the
date/time or hard drive type. The setup program is stored in read-only memory and
can be accessed by resetting the PC or pressing “F2” or “Del” on your keyboard
immediately after powering on the system.
The specified BIOS settings are recorded in a special area of memory called CMOS
RAM. This memory is backed up by the battery to ensure they are retained after a
system reset or power off. When the power is activated again, the system reads the
settings stored in CMOS RAM and compares them to the results of the equipment
check conducted during the power-on self-test (POST). If an error occurs, an error
message will be displayed on screen prompting users to run the setup program.
